The Wroston wagon did not replenish their supplies at Fort Laramie so we are in a bind. We need flour, sugar and bacon. If anyone is willing to sell we will pay good money. We have a family of five and are in dire need of supplies. God Bless the Wroston Family

Well, our family is already in a spot of trouble...our water supply for the first day of our trip has been contaminated with cholera! Is anyone out there willing to share some of their water? We can offer the help of our oldest daughter (age 14) when we settle down to camp the first night- she is great with young 'uns!

If you are willing to share your water, please look for the Wilson7 wagon. Many thanks!

Wish we could help, but we topped off our water, too, before seeing the contaminated sign! So we are waterless as well. And we are MIGHTY thirsty. Hoping for a little mercy from some travelling friends. We'd be glad to offer help in the future. Our Pa is a carpenter and has quite a reputation for repairing wagons. We are the Hickory wagon. Thanks!

We have water to share!
I am not sure yet how to get comments to the right people.... But we took a vote and decided hands down that it is the neighborly thing to do! How would we feel? We are all in this together!

Well, how many other families had to pay "Fish" to get their wagons across the mighty Wakarusa?? I guess we under-estimated our need for many yoke of oxen...oh, well! We are willing to buy another yolk of oxen, if any family is willing to sell this early on in the journey-let the Wilson wagon know!!

We had to pay, too!
I never thought about having enough to pull the wagon - across the water!
I wouldn't even know how many that would be!
I feel wiser already....

Oh boy, we did not replenish our sugar nor flour at the Ft. Laramie. We are in need of 10 lbs. of flour and 5 lbs. of sugar. Can you help us? If so, see us at the McVay Family wagon.
Thank you kindly.

Please pray for our family- our 4 year old daughter was bitten by a rattler and we didn't have any hartshorn available to save her leg...(guess we didn't do our homework and prepare well enough for this journey) We will be moving on, she will have to squeeze in our over-crowded wagon for the rest of the trip.

We knew there were rattlers in this part of the country. We planned ahead and skimped on supplies as best we could so that we could all ride in the wagon. It's might uncomfortable, but with the ages of our chil'en it makes good sense. I have to ride anyway to hang on to the baby for she'd topple out of the wagon if left to her own devices. My three year old ain't much better. The only one who could walk would be my six year old. He's getting bored ridin' in the wagon, but he's learning to play the harmonica so that keeps him busy.

If you got bit by a rattler I have a remedy. take the warm meat of a chick and put it on the wound. As soon as it coos to it one more time. The Tpoison from the wound will turn the chicks flesh green. Then get a bucket of warm mud and keep the leg in that. Then after the mud is cool poor whiskey over it. My brother got well this way!
if you have any questions you can talk to Pa.

Feeling a little sad today. Missing close friends that branched off to go with the Exodusters to live in Nicodemus and Dunlap, Kansas.
