Welcome to the Westward Ho! Wagontrain

Thanks to Kristine at PB WIki for providing us with a free Gold account!

We have sucessfully made it to Oregon. The next wagon train will leaving 2010.

Please take time to read links for resources, lessons and overviews to help you get started. You should have already logged in to the wiki, fates and the chat sites to test them out. There are over 200 participant groups this year. I will be assisting during chats on the trail, participating in the wiki and guiding my own group of pioneers. The resources hold many tips, ideas and answers to questions. I have also created a help page for scouts to share ideas and guide the tenderfoots as I cannot do it alone. Please go to the help page to post and/or answer questions.

Thank ya kindly,

Yore Wagonmisteress

Dear Pioneers and Scouts,

Load those wagons........kiss the kin goodbye.........get ready for adventure, drama, comedy, tragedy, and fantastic learning as we hit the Oregon Trail and head out west! Back for its fifteenth year, this simulated journey allows classes to travel the trail as part of the Westward HO! Wagon Train. In classrooms across the country, collaborative families, based on real families from America's past, make daily decisions (travel and fate scenarios are provided by the project moderators) that will influence their safe arrival in Oregon.

To all the brave souls that join us... Godspeed and safe traveling.

Yore Faithful Wagonmistress,

Darlene

We're packing and deciding what we will leave behind. There just isn't room for everything Some of my family heirlooms will have to be left. It's sad, but we will have lots of new things when we reach our new home.

I just returned from a scouting trip to Missouri. There is currently no snow on the ground and the temperatures were well above freezing. Trails were dry. Let's hope the weather hold for the start of our journey.

I sure hope the weather breaks soon. It's soon cold that hot water is turnin' ta steam when tossed in the air.
